www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/nova-scotia-students-entitled-deadlines-1.3445447Ah yes, those students. Those who expect coming to postsecondary education to be the same as high school. I saw this for 28 years as a professor/program coordinator. Students have come to college and university ill-prepared for years but in the past they realized that they needed to learn how to be a postsecondary student and to learn things. That has changed. Students now are so entitled that they don't want to learn, to change, to grow. They fight it every step of the way because it's hard and they haven't really had to do anything hard in their lives. Who is to blame? We know the answer to that. What do we do to change this? We need to prepare students for the transition to postsecondary education. I have said this for years and will continue to say it. Does this sound like a rant? Good. It is.
